William Charles Clankie

Funeral services for William C. Clankie, 38, 500 Waveland Ave.. who died early Saturday at St Anthony Hospital following a brief illness, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the McAllistor-Julian funeral home 304 N. 5th St. The Rev. Fred A Millhouse, Pastor of Messiah Luthern Church will officiate, and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Clankie was born July 18, 1901 in Rockford. He had been employed at J.I. Case Company for the last 22 years.

Surviving are his widow, Flora; three daughters, Lydia, Elizabeth Jean and Mary Lorraine; a son, Dwain, his father Henry Clankie Sr.; two brothers, Henry Jr. and Earl Clankie and four sisters, Mrs Pearl Bogenrief, Mrs Mable Earlywine, Mrs. Grace Patnau, and Mrs Cora Crawford, all of Rockford.

     Pearl M. Bogenrief, 92, of Rockford died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb 27, 1997 in Swedish American Hospital. Born May 29, 1904 in Rockford, the daughter of Henry and Grace Knight Clankie. Lifelong Rockford resident. United in marriage to Ernest Bogenrief on May 7, 1922, in Marengo; he died Sept 11, 1979. Member of Pine Grove Free Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Doris (Dale) Jones of South Beloit, Rhonda (Steve) Miller and Leone Hill of Rockford; son Ron (Jeanette) Bogenrief of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister Grace Patnou of Rockford; and brother, Earl Clankie of South Beloit. Also predeceased by daughter Evelyn Renton; son Robert Bogenrief; two sisters, Mabel and Cora; and two brothers Henry and Bill.

      Services at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, in Julian-Poorman-Welte funeral home, 304 N. 5th St. with the Rev Mark Caplinger, Pastor of Pine Grove Free Methodist Church officiating.

Earlywine--Mable Jane Earlywine, 75, 512 Lillian Court, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 1980, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 20, 1905, in Rockford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clankie. Lived all her life in Rockford.  Married to Sam Earlywine in Belvidere, Dec. 19, 1922. Survivors include her husband Sam; two brothers, Henry and Earl Clankie, both of Shirland; three sisters, Cora Stock, Pearl Bogenrief and Grace Patnou, all of Rockford; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 19, in Julian-Poorman funeral home, 304 N. 5th St., with the Rev. Ralph Woodworth, pastor of Pine Grove Free Methodist Church, Rockford, officiating.  Burial in Greenwood Cemetary.  Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Earlywine--Sam Earlywine, 78, 512 Lillian Court, Loves Park died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 1980, in him home after a long illness.  Born June 19, 1902 in Janesville, Wis, son of Mr and Mrs Sam Earlywine, Sr. Lived all his life in Rockford.  Married to the former Mabel Jane Clankie in Belvidere Dec 19, 1922; she died July 1980 in Rockford.  He was a self-employed trucker. Survivors include two brothers Charles, Rockford, and Harold, Rockton. A sister Myrtle Lampson, San Diego, Calif. and several nieces and nephews. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday Dec 6 in Julian-Poorman Funeral Home 304 N. 5th St. with the Rev William O. Risinger, Pastor of Centennial United Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Hazel Clankie, who was shot and killed Sunday when a gun her brother was carrying was accidently discharged, were held this afternoon at the home, Rev. Mr. Mustard officiating. Internment took place at the West Side Cemetery.

Brooksville, Fla.--Grace C. Patnou, 86, of Brookridge, Brooksville, Fla., died Saturday, May 17, 1997, in Brooksville. She was born in Rockford, recently moving to the Brooksville area from her native Rockford. She was a former employee of Rockford Country Club. She was a homemaker adn of the Lutheran faith.  Survivors include two sons, Robert Patnou of Mountain Home, Ark., and Gary Patnou of Rockford; three daughters, Colleen Blee and Shirley Walker, both of Brooksville, and Barbara Lang of Hudson, Fla.; 15 grand-children; and brother Earl Clankie of Roscoe. Dedicated in loving memory from her grandson, Gary D. Patnou Jr.

Clankie--Henry A. Clankie, 73, Rockford, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 1986 in his home after a long illness. Born May 2, 1913, in Rockford, son of Henry and Grace Clankie. Lived many years in Shirland before moving to Rockton. Married to the former Hazel J. Kilmer in Belvidere, Sept. 5, 1934. Formerly employed by Rockford Iron & Metal Co. 17 years and Joseph Behr 15 years, retiring eight years ago. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Sorenson, Rockton: four sons, George, South Beloit, Randall, Brodhead, Wis., Larry, Orfordville, Wis., and David, Beloit, Wis.; a brother, Earl, Rockton; three sisters, Cora Stock and Grace Patnow, both Rockton, and Pearl Bogenrief, Rockford; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, Brittanie. Predeceased by wife, Hazel, August 1982, a son and a daughter.

Sue writes of Cora, her grandmother, "She was the ideal grandmother who thrived by doing things for her friends, family and neighbors. Cora was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing both her creations and her knowledge of recipes with others. Throughout her life she made numerous quilts. All of her sewing was done by hand and with the use of a Singer pedal sewing machine she used up until the last year of her life."

Earl Harold Clankie-90-Machesney Park, died at 6:55 A.M. Monday, April 7, 2008, at Medina Nursing Home in Durand. Born July 26, 1917, in Rockford, son of Harold and Gracie Knight Clankie. Married to Luella M. Putnam in Harvard, IL. on October 17, 1934 and she died on November 24, 1990. Earl worked at the Sand Prairie Auto Sales and Salvage. Survivors include several children and grandchildren. Services at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 25, 2008 at Winnebago Cemetery. Rev. David Petty will officiate. Julian-Poorman-Welte assisted the family. Service was held at Fri. April 25, 2008, 10:30 A.M. at Winnebago Cemetery.
