授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This Seminar aims to introduce current thinking on multilingualism with English in intercultural and transcultural communication. It explores the dynamic links between named languages, cultural references, and semiotic affordances.

You will develop an advanced understanding of language, culture, and communication in a globalised world. You will also critically consider its implications and applications for language education, academia, business, and digital communication.

- Active Seminar participation (20%)
- Required reading, writing, and presentation (30%)
- Graduation thesis (50%)
*Specific evaluation criteria and preparation tips, as well as the class policy on the use of generative AI tools, are discussed in class.
成績評価の基準
/Grading Criteria
秀 (90 or above): Outstanding performance
優 (80-89): Mastery performance
良 (70-79): Satisfactory performance
可 (60-69): Marginal performance
*Regular and punctual attendance is expected of you throughout the semester.
*You do not receive an interim grade in your third year, but only a final grade at the end of your final year.
