授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This course aims to introduce key concepts, theories, and practices in intercultural and transcultural communication through Global Englishes.
達成目標
/Course Goals
You will develop a critical understanding of the role of language and culture in communication among English users. In particular, you will see how permeable and malleable languages are, with reference to empirical studies in applied linguistics.

成績評価の方法

[Weeks 1–15] Active class participation (10%)
[Week 4, 6, 7, 10, or 11] Group presentation (20%)
[Weeks 5, 8, and 12] Exams (45%)
[Week 13] Presentation abstract (5%)
[Week 14 or 15] Reflective presentation (20%)
*Specific evaluation criteria and preparation tips, as well as the class policy on the use of generative AI tools, are discussed in class.
成績評価の基準

秀 (90 or above): Outstanding performance
優 (80-89): Mastery performance
良 (70-79): Satisfactory performance
可 (60-69): Marginal performance
*Regular and punctual attendance is expected of you throughout the semester. (If you miss six or more classes, you will automatically fail.)
