| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
This course will guide the students through the cultures of Eurasia. In each class, the instructor will give a 30 minute lecture on a specific region of the Eurasian continent. During the next 30 minutes, there will be a group discussion where each small group (3-4 students) will consult library books provided by the instructor to find further interesting details about the region discussed in class. The last 30 minutes of class will involve each group presenting the details they have found to the rest of the class and watching a related YouTube video. | ||

| 成績評価の方法 ／Grading |
The attendance consists of 40% of the total grade. Absence for a justifiable reason will not be counted toward the attendance grade. The five-minute chalk talk on any topic related to a culture in Eurasia will count for the 60% of the total grade. A chalk talk is a presentation using only a blackboard and a chalk (or a whiteboard and a marker) without any other materials, including slides, scripts, or handouts. Each student will be asked to show only one picture on the screen and give a chalk talk about the displayed picture. |
