| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
One main objective of this course is to develop students’ ability to read and understand articles in English. Students will be exposed to a variety of topics from music, technology to sports and languages. Students will be encouraged to read the materials carefully and do some research in advance. They will be introduced to words and expressions in English, strategies for effective reading and other background information. The second chief purpose of this course is to improve students’ ability to apply what they have read and learned into daily communication. Students will be given many opportunities to practice by taking part in various activities before, during and after class, such as pair work, group work and presentation. |

Students will be evaluated according to their class contribution, assignments and final essay. All students should always do their best to participate actively in English. Students who participate positively in class will receive higher marks. |
