| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
Course Objectives: This course serves as an introduction to contrastive linguistics, with a strong emphasis on theoretical approaches. It is designed for students with no previous coursework in formal language study. The course has three major objectives: 1. Understand Linguistics Basics: Through lectures, students will become acquainted with the core concepts and terminology of modern linguistics, laying the groundwork for advanced studies. 2. Analyze Languages: Students will engage in theoretical analysis of languages, primarily focusing on Japanese and English, while also considering the analysis of other languages. 3. Explore Current Research: Through reading and discussing scholarly articles, students will delve into contemporary research, broadening their understanding of contrastive linguistics. Course Method: The course will utilize lectures for the foundational teaching of key concepts and theories in contrastive linguistics. Comparative language exercises and discussions on selected research papers will complement these lectures, offering practical insights and encouraging critical analysis of the latest scholarly developments. |
