授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
The aim of this course is to improve all four skills with special focus on speaking and listening. Class activity will alternate between vocabulary and grammar practice and student presentations on the topic discussed during the previous week. | ||
達成目標 /Course Goals |
Through this course, students will practice listening and speaking about everyday topics; practice basic grammatical structures and vocabulary; learn to express and defend their opinions in a discussion and make short presentations. During the first half of the semester, there will be an opportunity to have an online dialog with students from Poland and Germany. The contents of the course will be adjusted depending on the availability of these meetings. | ||

The course will consist of two-weeks blocks. You will receive a file with materials to be used for vocabulary and grammar practice on the first week. Please familiarize yourselves with the content of the file. During the second week students will make short presentations on the topic. You will need to prepare the slides for the presentation before class. | ||

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: (a) master appropriate vocabulary and grammar (b) make a presentation in English (c) contribute to class discussion 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations |

Grading will depend on CORRECT RESULTS and/or TIME SPENT ON THE TASK. For example, you can get a good (up to 70%) score on Edpuzzle even if you don’t have all the correct answers if you try the questions several times. You cannot participate fully in the class if you do not do your homework. Lateness in submitting the assignment will result in lower grades. | ||
