To learn a foreign language, it can be beneficial to understand how grammar works in the light of modern language science. This course introduces the student to the basic concepts of grammar (syntax and morphology), focusing on English and Japanese. | ||

成績評価の方法 /Grading |
The student will be expected to participate actively during each class, which will count for 60% of the total grade. Per each class, an attendance with at least one question or comment made during the class yields 1 point. A particularly active participation allows an additional point and the student receives 2 points. An absence or total silence during the class leads to 0 point. An absence for a justifiable reason will not be counted, provided that the student reports their reason to the instructor. The midterm and the final exam will both count for 20% of the total grade. |
