授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This course aims to introduce current thinking on intercultural and transcultural communication. It explores the dynamic links between named languages and cultures, 'intercultural and transcultural awareness', and 'transcultural language teaching'.

/Course Goals
You will develop an advanced understanding of language and culture in intercultural and transcultural communication. You will also critically consider its implications and applications for language education.

成績評価の方法
/Grading
[Weeks 1–15] Active class participation (10%)
[Week 3, 5, or 7 and Week 7, 10, or 12] Group presentations (30%)
[Weeks 9 and 14] Exams (40%)
[Week 15] Final presentation (20%)
*Specific evaluation criteria and preparation tips, as well as the class policy on the use of generative AI tools, are discussed in class.
成績評価の基準
/Grading Criteria
秀 (90 or above): Outstanding performance
優 (80-89): Mastery performance
良 (70-79): Satisfactory performance
可 (60-69): Marginal performance
*Regular and punctual attendance is expected of you throughout the semester. (If you miss six or more classes, you will automatically fail.)
