授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This course provides introduction to semantics of natural languages with some of the basic logical concepts and theories.
Students will learn what is called model-theoretic semantics of natural languages. What is meaning? Does a sentence structure change the meaning of the sentence? Can we calculate the meaning of a sentence from the meaning of its constituents? The answers to these questions will be given in this course.

We will study the textbook little by little in the way that nobody is left behind. Students will work on the exercises in the textbook.

At the end of the course, students will write a term paper or a squib relevant to the content. Students may choose between physical and virtual attendance for this course.
