授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
The aim of this course is to improve all four skills with special focus on speaking and listening. Students will watch a short video before class and answer some questions. During class, we will discuss the answers, practice the vocabulary and expressions from the video, have discussions or debates on the topic and make short presentations. | ||

For each topic you will get a WORD file and a video assignment (on EdPuzzle). Read the text and answer the questions. Watch the assigned video. The video may seem very difficult at first, but do not worry. The videos are very short, around 5 minutes long. Please watch each video several times until you understand the content and have mastered the correct pronunciation. | ||

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: (a) master appropriate vocabulary and grammar (b) make a presentation in English (c) contribute to class discussion 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations |

Grading will depend on CORRECT RESULTS and/or TIME SPENT ON THE TASK on Edpuzzle. For example, you can get a good (up to 70%) score on Edpuzzle even if you don’t have all the correct answers if you try the questions several times. You cannot participate fully in the class if you do not do your homework. Lateness in submitting the assignment will result in lower grades. | ||
