授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This will be a course of second year English. This class will include the four skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing, but the main focus of the course will be on reading. Each week we will focus on one lesson from the book. Students will be expected to read and then discuss the topics covered in each lesson during class time.

The goals of the course are as follows: a. Build reading ability in English at an academic level. b. Build vocabulary ability. c. Be capable of discussing the readings in English.

成績評価の方法
/Grading
As this is a reading/discussion class, active participation is the key to both improvement and one's success in this course. Students who attend but do not participate, or those who spend their time on their phones in class will be graded accordingly. There will also be a portfolio of assignments. The portfolio must be submitted by the final day of the class.
