| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
The course will take students through 8 units. One reading in each unit will be done as a listening task using Cornell notes templates. Students will respond in writing in every class without use of AI. A portfolio of all students work will be made. In addition, students will respond to questions given throughout the course on Manaba Forums. In every class student will participate in controlled speaking tasks throughout the lesson. | ||

Through systematic use of the Cornell note-taking system, students can expect to significantly improve the way they engage in texts through both reading and listening. Also, students will become accustomed to writing paragraphs in a specific structure and be challenged to understand how to respond critically to articles covered. | ||

Every 4th week students’ written responses will be assessed. Tasks will alternate between reading and listening. | ||
| 成績評価の基準 ／Grading Criteria |
Written work will be graded on structure, originality, evidence of reasoning, critical analysis, complexity, brevity, and cohesion. Listening tests will confirm that students are taking notes correctly using key vocabulary, correctly identifying topic sentences, and satisfactory summary. Finally, that students can respond to the article critically. | ||
