授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This course aims to introduce key concepts, theories, and practices of intercultural and transcultural communication. In so doing, we will discuss selected scholarly articles.
達成目標
/Course Goals
You will be able to gain a better understanding of the role of culture in global communication among English users. In particular, you will be able to see culture as dynamic and constantly in process, as evidenced by empirical studies in applied linguistics.

成績評価の方法
/Grading
[Weeks 1–15] Active class participation (10%)
[Weeks 3–6, 8–9, 11–12] Online forum discussion (40%)
[Week 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, or 12] Group presentation (20%)
[Week 14 or 15] Paper presentation (10%)
[Week 16] Final paper (20%)

秀 (90 or above): Outstanding performance
優 (80-89): Mastery performance
良 (70-79): Satisfactory performance
可 (60-69): Marginal performance
*Regular and punctual attendance is expected of you throughout the semester. (If you miss six or more classes, you will automatically fail.)
