授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
This course aims to improve students’ English skills and abilities through learning about Japanese language and culture in English. This course is suitable for students who are interested in learning how to explain or teach the Japanese language and cultural concepts to non-native speakers of Japanese in English. This course will require students to be interactive and collaborative. Students will read and discuss texts explaining common expressions, grammar and abstract cultural concepts that non-native speakers of Japanese may find difficult to understand. Some of the readings will be from academic journals or books. Other learning activities include research on a chosen topic, presentations, and informal micro teaching. It is hoped to provide opportunities to interact with international students at OUC if they are willing to volunteer. |
