授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
The primary aim of this course is to help students raise their TOEIC test scores. Students will engage in learning activities ranging from online exercises to group work in order to expand vocabulary, improve reading and listening skills, and acquire essential test-taking strategies. While this course mainly focuses on reading and listening skills, students will have opportunities to speak and write in English. | ||

Week 1: Orientation; course information Week 2: Understanding the TOEIC test Weeks 3-11: Practice vocabulary, reading & listening comprehension skills, and test-taking strategies Weeks 12-14: TOEIC practice tests Week 15: In-class test Note: Subject to revision throughout the semester. More detailed schedule will be provided as the course progresses. |

There will be pre-lesson tasks (homework) for every class. It is important to come to class prepared so that learning is effective. Please check manaba frequently and keep yourselves up to date with the latest information on homework and assignments. Students are expected to review the materials covered in class. Language learning is a cumulative process and requires regular revisions and practices. |

- Please understand that students will need to use a computer since the class may be online. - All classes will be held face-to-face on campus unless otherwise instructed. - English is the medium of instruction in this class, but Japanese may be used if necessary. - Students are strongly encouraged to communicate in English during the class. Criteria for participation includes how much English students use in class as well as how actively they participate in learning activities. - Students are required to attend at least two thirds of classes to pass the course. - Please note that any assignment that is late is subject to penalty. It is students’ responsibility to submit the assignment properly on time. |
