| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
During the spring semester, the seminar will meet online unless students prefer to meet in person.The central area of study is analyzing the meaning of language. Currently the evening seminar consists of two separate research groups. - Linguistics+ group: Wednesday 6th periods During spring vacation, students select and read an introductory book written in English. The seminar starts with students' presentations on the book reviews. Then eventually they conduct studies on their own topic. - Computer science group: Thursday 6th periods This is a separate autonomous group of computer scientists studying natural language processing, programming, web design app/video making and so forth. |

Students will prepare for writing a graduation thesis in the following year. Students will also communicate in English during seminars. |

The course takers are required to submit a graduation thesis in the following academic year. The attendees are encouraged to attend ESSLLI Summer School, 8-19 August, 2022 National University of Ireland Galway, https://2022.esslli.eu/. Students are expected to speak in English at seminars. |
