| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
The central area of study is analyzing language meaning and social choice theory. Currently the daytime 3rd year seminar consists of two research groups: - Main group: Thursdays 4-5 periods During spring vacation, students select and read an introductory book written in English. The seminar starts with students' presentations on the book reviews. Then eventually they conduct studies on their own topic. - Computer science group: Thursdays 6-7 periods This is a separate autonomous group of computer scientists studying natural language processing, programming, web design app/video making and so forth. Both seminars will take place in the seminar room. |

Students will acquire basic knowledge on formal semantics and become familiar with reading academic textbooks written in English. |

Grading will be based on students' research papers, oral presentations and slides submitted on Manaba, and active participation at seminars. |
