授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
The goal of this class is to support students’ ability to express their ideas in writing, to increase awareness of essay structure through writing short essays on a topic chosen by the teacher. Each essay will focus on the topic from a distinct perspective. During the semester, students will be involved in a Virtual Exchange project with students from an overseas university and will need to engage in verbal and written communication with them in order to achieve the project goals. |

Students will need to create a Google account. Homework will be submitted through Google docs. The instructor will make comments and students need to rewrite their text based on the comments. Rewriting is a very important activity. |

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-d as follows: a.master appropriate vocabulary and grammar b.be able to express ideas in writing clearly c.use appropriate style d.show cultural sensitivity 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations |
