授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
This course aims to improve students' reading and communication skills in English, including discussing and explaining information through practical, task-based activities. This will be achieved through the following activities: • Reading and discussing English language texts. • Reading Graded Readers write book reports • Writing essays on class topics • Learning vocabulary from the class reading texts. • Group projects and presentations - investigating an issue and giving a presentation about your findings in class. |

By the end of this course students will be able to: • Understand and explain information from a variety of genres of English texts • Discuss their opinions about issues in the texts in a persuasive way in English. • Increase their English vocabulary through reading class texts. • Research & analyse an issue and present the information in a persuasive way. |

授業内容 /Course contents |
This course uses task-based language learning, where students interact with each other in English in pairs or small groups to get information and solve problems. Weekly activities include reading news articles, watching online videos, explaining information to other students in English, discussions and debates. 「秀」Very fluent reading skills. Very fluent communication in written & spoken English. Very high vocabulary scores. 「優」Fluent reading skills. Communicates fluently in written & spoken English. High vocabulary scores. 「良」Understands most readings but difficulties with advanced texts. Quite fluent in spoken & written English. Many low vocabulary scores. 「可」Can read some class materials but struggles with difficult texts. Basic communication in spoken & written English. Low vocabulary scores. |
