Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: master appropriate debate techniques do research for class debates contribute to class discussion 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations |

Debate involves teamwork. If you are absent or if you are present but inactive you cannot achieve the objectives of this course. Moreover, you are keeping the whole team, and class back. Success in a debate requires good preparation. If you come to the debate application unprepared you are a handicap to your team. Unacceptable behavior: absence without a serious reason coming late to class coming unprepared to class using Japanese during class engaging in other activities during class (phone mail, sleeping) |
