| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
This is one of seminar courses for glocal program students. The objective of this seminar is to learn basic methods of data analyses. I will cover applied micro issues using Stata. Depending on the total number of enrolled students, this seminar can be the first half of the merged seminar with Prof. Matsumoto. | ||

Learn how to collect and analyze data (descriptive statistics, estimation and testing, interpretation of results, etc.); how to use statistical package software, particularly Stata; how to present using slide software (Powerpoint or Keynote); and how to write a term paper using these skills. |

| 授業内容 ／Course contents |
The students have to find data of their strong interests. Any datasets are welcomed, given that the data size is not too little. If it is hard for you to find data by yourself, I will provide sources of free public data. The students have to read a main textbook in advance, and I may give lectures using slides. Then, the students will present their data, their research questions, their methodologies, and any expected results. The other students will be discussants for the presented research proposal or work in progress. | ||
