The goal of this class is to offer an introduction to semantics and pragmatics through hands-on, discovery activities. The class will focus on topics relevant to teaching and learning English as a foreign language. | ||

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations Goals: (a) has mastered the appropriate linguistic terminology (b) shows understanding of linguistic concepts and methods (c) is capable to apply the concepts and methods to new data |
