授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
This course gives students an opportunity to develop all their English skills - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Each class is based on a video of people giving presentations in English from the TED Talks website (http://www.ted.com/talks) and the TED ED website (http://ed.ted.com/). During the semester students develop their debating and presentational skills in order to become effective communicators in English. They prepare for each class by watching the videos and (sometimes) reading written material in English. In class there are discussions and debates about the content of the video. Also, during the course students work in small groups to investigate a current affairs issue they have selected. Each group prepares a talk on their issue which they present in English to the rest of the class. At the end of the course students have a speaking test in a debate-style format. |
