| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
The aim of this course is to improve all four skills with special focus on speaking and listening. The instructor will provide materials about the topics. During the first class, the students will familiarize themselves to the topic and the relevant language. On the following week, students will be invited prepare short presentations on each topic and have discussions. |

Through this course, students will practice listening and speaking about everyday topics from an intercultural perspective; making short English presentations, expressing and defending their opinions. | ||

Orientation Myself My family My home My city Food School and work Entertainment *We will spend two classes per topic. During the first class we will explore the topic and the relevant language, during the following class students will make presentations and hold discussions. Depending on the students’ preferences and English proficiency, the topics above might be changed. |

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: (a)master appropriate vocabulary and grammar (b)make a presentation in English (c)contribute to class discussion 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations |
