The goal of this class is to offer an introduction to semantics and pragmatics through hands on, discovery activities. The class will focus on topics relevant to teaching and learning English as a foreign language. | ||

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations Goals: (a) has mastered the appropriate linguistic terminology (b) shows understanding of linguistic concepts and methods (c) is capable to apply the concepts and methods to new data |
