| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
Students will finish the 14 units in the course book. Each unit contains 2 reading passages with comprehension and vocabulary exercises. There is a discussion section in each unit, which will be performed in groups. The course book will be, mostly, done in class. At the end of each unit, there will be a vocabulary test. Students will also be required to read six graded-reader books, outside of class, level four, and hand in reports during the course of the semester. |

| 達成目標 ／Course Goals |
By the end of the semester students should be be able to read intermediate level passages on a variety of topics without having to stop during the reading to check words up in a dictionary. They should also have improved their reading speed and comprehension by using the techiques learned in the book. Students are also supposed to be able to voice their opinions on the many different topics they read about. |

- Students will have to read six graded-reader books, level 4, and hand in reports about each one. - Homework will be assigned. Students will have to submit their homework assignments on the class Moodle page. The assignments will be marked. - Absences will affect the final grade. - Having more than 5 absences results in automatic failure. |
